A behind-the-scenes look into AI at an Etnetera Group event

Last week, a meeting of representatives of companies dealing with AI in depth took place at the Etnetera Group headquarters in Holešovice. Etnetera Group, like TRITON IT, is a member of the Czech Association of Artificial Intelligence. Individual lectures were focused on artificial intelligence and its practical use in business. The event was attended by about two dozen guests, which created a pleasant intimate and interactive atmosphere.

The event featured three distinguished speakers who shared their knowledge and experience in the field of AI and data analytics. The whole event was an opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of modern technologies and their implementation in business processes.

Why is Big Data without AI like a book without text? – Jiří Štěpán

The first lecture was led by Jiří Štěpán, co-founder of Etneter, who focused on the importance of artificial intelligence when working with big data. He explained that without AI, Big Data is like a book without text – it’s just piles of data with no real value. Stephen described DataLayer, the data collection layer they designed using ChatGPT 4, and showed how Google’s Big Query Data Canvas allows finance managers and business analysts to generate their own SQL queries in the data warehouse.

He put a lot of emphasis on the transformation that Big Data has undergone from its initial hype to its current state, introducing concepts such as the 5Vs of Big Data and Data Maturity. This comprehensive view of data analytics showed how crucial AI integration is to extract real value from big data sets.

Insights on AI from practice – Tomáš Trnka

The second talk was led by Tomáš Trnka, Chief Data Officer at Carvago, who shared his experience of developing and implementing machine learning at Carvago and Rohlík.cz. Trnka explained how they started with naive data mining and gradually worked their way up to cooperation with CTU, which provided them with academic background for advanced machine learning projects.

He introduced the company Carvago and showed how Carvago works with artificial intelligence, which led to the company’s cooperation with one of the most prestigious universities in the Czech Republic, CTU.

An interesting feature was how Carvago uses OpenAI to generate and classify training datasets, which has significantly reduced the cost of training their models. Trnka described in detail the development of models for car classification and image vectorization, and explained the financial savings their current solution brought them compared to using external services.

How to work with data 10x faster using AI – Pavel Chocholouš

The final lecture was given by Pavel Chocholouš, Product Owner at Keboola, who presented tools for speeding up data handling using AI. He paid special attention to the concept of Data Lineage, which allows mapping and generating links between data, which is crucial for managing large databases. Chocholouš also shared how Keboola actively seeks out clients at the beginning of their data processing journey and helps them grow by providing customer service and consulting.

The whole event provided deep insights into the practical applications of AI in various industries and showed how technological innovations can transform business processes. Etnetera Group has once again confirmed its role as a leader in data analytics and AI, and we look forward to more events like this that will bring new insights and inspiration.
